I was asked to do a painting of a Light house at the hospital where I work. I am really not a painter the way they think. I started out with a glorious sunset where the water looked like carnival glass. But they wanted a beam of light coming from the light house. So I changed it to dark and stormy with dark rough water and lots of jagged rocks, I changed the top of the lighthouse, and painted out the house that was next to it, made the lighthouse shorter and thinner, and added the beam of light. But my clients said it looked too scary and said they would never hang it. So then I repainted it with a blue sky with a few clouds, got rid of the beam of light, put the lighthouse on a platform and added a new big house to the side. I changed the top of the lighthouse again, I added some grassy areas and I whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggg!!!! I can't take it anymore... no more editing its done!!!

I haven't done a thing artwise yet since I started this blog. Well I have made art at work, made a bunch of ATC's and a huge painting, but that was not for my enjoyment. Oh, and I got to marble some paper as well which was interesting but messy. I did do a hot glue experiment, made a medallion using embossing powders and a rubber stamp but it didn't come out too well.
I had planned to spend today playing with gesso and alcohol inks, learn something new.. but I haven't. Why am I bothering to post? i dunno, just trying to maintain a blog I guess.
